Foul-smelling waste from tanneries in Dhaka, Bangladesh

Foul-smelling waste from tanneries of Hazaribagh in Dhaka, Bangladesh embankment area in the capital end up at this low-laying ground turning it into a red pond. According to statistics from Department of Environment of Bangladesh the number of polluting tanneries 198, dyeing mills is 365, Pharmaceutical units 149, engineering workshops 129, chemical and pesticide factories 118, Jute mills 92, rubber and plastic units 63, food and suger 38, paper and pulp 10, cement and fertilisers 5 and distilleries 4 are continue polluting Dhaka Watershed.
